Want to Maintain Good Health? 8 Kinds of Foods to Exclude and Include In Your Daily Diet

Everyone wants good health, and you are no exception. It doesn't matter if you are trying to prevent future health problems, or wanting to shed some extra weight, or simply want to maintain a general good health, you can achieve all this by avoiding certain foods in your diet, and adopting certain others to ensure sustained health.
4 Foods to Avoid
• Fast and Processed Food: Junk foods and canned foods should be avoided as much as possible. Junk foods have scarce nutritional value and end up only satisfying your taste buds and are the prime reason for gaining weight, which can lead to further health issues in the future. On the other hand processed foods use a number of preservatives which might cause harm to your body.
• Fats: Not all fats are bad. In a blind rush to eliminate all kinds of fats from your diet, you might end up reducing the 'good' fat intake, for example omega3 fats that are extremely healthy. This might lead to sudden hunger pangs. While trans-fats should be avoided, foods containing healthy fats must be a part of your diet.
• 'Diet' Foods: Just because the label reads 'diet' doesn't make it any healthier. While sodas are bad, diet sodas aren't any good either. In fact diet sodas are known to increase your craving for sugar and also linked with weight gain. You might think other foods, veggie chips for example are ok, but they are not. The ingredients typically contain calories equal to regular potato chips and many vegetable nutrients are lost in the processes used to make such foods.
• Artificial Sweeteners: You might make liberal use of artificial sweeteners, thinking they cut your sugar intake, and can reduce any associated health risks in the future. But artificial sweeteners can harm the beneficial kinds of bacteria in the body. On the other hand sweeteners can cause an increase in cravings for sweetened foods.
4 Foods to Embrace
• Organic Vegetables: Fresh vegetables are simply the best kind of food for good health. To avoid the risks of having vegetables laced with chemicals and pesticides, you must source them locally and preferably try to get organic vegetables which are devoid of harmful chemicals. Vegetable juices which have numerous health benefits are a good idea too.
• Fruits: Another healthy source of nutrition is fruits. Fructose contained in fruits is natural and present in small quantities, so don't get too concerned. Eating fruits is better than fruits juices, because the discarded pulp also removes fiber and increases the calorie density. But if you must have juices make sure they are freshly squeezed and immediately consumed.
• Other Foods: Other natural foods including grains, nuts, seeds, seafood and lean meats can also give a proper balance to your daily diet.
• Water: While not exactly food, it is very important for your health. Have approximately eight glasses of water daily to help your body to flush out toxins and also to help reduce weight.
A proper diet today can go a long way to ensure a fitter and more resistant body in the future.
